Mural at Kitchen India

I was commissioned to paint a mural for Kitchen India, a lovely Indian restaurant in the heart of London, following many conversations about creating something colourful, intricate, and symbolically rich. The client was particularly drawn to the landscapes found in Company School paintings and asked for a modern interpretation of that style. The final design brought together an ornate elephant and a peacock set within a contemporary reimagining of those colonial-era depictions of India. I also drew heavily on the vibrant natural motifs seen in Mughal art, blending these influences into a cohesive scene. The mural was painted over the course of several evenings, and I was very warmly welcomed (and very well fed) throughout my time there.
